Good news!  Shawna, and Snaidero America, recently placed second place in the 2022-2023 Sub Zero Wolf Kitchen Design Contest.

For the past thirty years, the Kitchen Design Contest has been a beacon of excellence, showcasing the remarkable creativity and innovation of the global design community,” said Jim Bakke, president and CEO of Sub-Zero Group, Inc. “These professionals and their projects exemplify the pinnacle of kitchen design, and we are proud to honor their exceptional work as they shape the future of the industry.”

In the 2022-2023 Kitchen Design Contest, over 1,600 entries were submitted from 11 countries and 44 states, with an impressive 57% coming from first-time entrants. The submissions featured a variety of design styles including traditional, contemporary, and transitional, with transitional being the most popular, making up over 40% of the entries.

Finalists were selected by a panel of seven esteemed architects, kitchen designers, and interior designers – all previous winners of the Kitchen Design Contest – through extensive review and deliberation at the Sub-Zero, Wolf, and Cove headquarters in Madison. The 2022-2023 judging panel included Davy Swanenberg of Culimaat High-End Kitchens (Netherlands), Mark Stumer of Mojo Stumer Associates (Greenvale, NY), Martin de Sousa of Designström (Toronto, ON), Martin Holliday of Chiselwood (United Kingdom), Mick De Giulio of de Giulio design (Chicago, IL), Sandra Agurto of Cabinetry Creations, Inc. (Orlando, FL), and Stacy Eisenmann of Eisenmann Architecture (Albany, CA).

“The Kitchen Design Contest holds significant importance in the design world and continues to set the standard for recognizing innovation and talent in kitchen design,” remarked judge Mark Stumer. “With thousands of submissions and a rigorous judging process, each entry is meticulously evaluated to ensure that only the best designs are celebrated for their creativity.”

All Finalists and the Student Winner will receive a trip for two to attend the Winners’ Summit and Gala, held from October 13-16, 2024, at the Breakers Resort in Palm Beach, Florida. The Summit offers design professionals an opportunity to come together and celebrate their achievements. The 13 Global Winners will be announced at the Gala, honoring their accomplishments in design across the following categories: first-, second-, and third-place in each of the Contemporary, Transitional, and Traditional design categories, First-Time Entrant, Small Space Kitchen, and Best Use Outside of Kitchen. The previously announced Student Winner will also be recognized.

Eligibility for the contest required that all design and construction be fully completed within the contest period of January 1, 2022, through December 31, 2023. Both indoor and outdoor kitchen design submissions had to meet specific criteria to ensure a diverse range of entries.
